Hemp Wolf is proud to support the re-introduction of the Gray Wolf into the ecosystem. We believe that this special creature has been along side humanity since the beginning. So much of our biodiversity and ecosystem relies on the Gray Wolf and its absence can be felt throughout the natural world. To find out more about the Grey Wolf and why this is important for Coloradans and North America visit https://www.rockymountainwolfproject.org/blog/ where you can donate your time and money to helping bring back man’s best friend’s oldest ancestor.

‘Born To Be Wild’ plate is in the wild!
According to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the ‘Born To Be Wild’ license plate came on line at the stroke of midnight on January 2nd, 2024, and by 8 AM had already been sold to eight people! So, you can purchase the plate now, regardless of your renewal date (the DMV will prorate your fees).

Colorado released a DRAFT of the long-awaited Gray Wolf Restoration and Management Plan [you can download a PDF of the plan here]. It’s a very in-depth document (nearly 70 pages, plus hundreds of pages of appendices) and represents a commendable start. That said, we at the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project believe the plan needs some refinement in a few key areas to ensure the long-term success of the reintroduction program.

In January, we’ll reach back out to you with our specific concerns and ask you to consider providing written and oral comment on the plan. Stay tuned!

As we wind down 2022, thank you again for your unwavering support of our vision of a thriving population of wolves in Colorado’s wild country. You are why Colorado is moving ahead with a plan to rekindle a wolf population.❄ ❄ ❄Finally, as this year draws to a close, we hope you’ll consider a donation to support our work toward that future of human-wolf coexistence in Colorado.
